Playing catch up.....

Well, since my last post was way back in December and now it is almost April (yes, I am super smart and know my months already... okay, maybe not, but it is fun to pretend)..... this is going to be A LOT of pictures again.  Mama has been trying to set aside time to help me write my blog, but she has been so tired that she usually sleeps when I do now.  I tell her that even one blog every 6 months is better than none.  I think she believes me.

The crazy part is that I last wrote you in December, but technically left off on updating back in October!  yikes!  So that is where I will begin.  Halloween!  Not sure I understand this holiday yet, but Charly sure seemed excited..... and really that's all that matters.  I LOVE to do anything she is doing!  I love her!

At Thanksgiving time we went on our annual trip to Nevada to see Papa and DiDi and Uncle Charlie and Auntie Kinsey.  It was super fun to swim, dance, play and get tickled!

After we got home from Nevada, life just got crazy busy!  I went to my first ski race and then it seemed like Christmas was here!  Grammy came and spent Christmas with us and it was just amazing!  Mommy talked a lot about the birth of Jesus and I am not sure I really understand, but this Jesus sure has the best birthday party ever!

We went to Aspen just after Jesus birthday and got to see Nana and Poppi and some of our Minnesota cousins!  We went sledding one day and our Mama didn't think we needed sun glasses.....

We disagreed.....

Awhhhhh, shades finally!

We got to take a little break from the snow in the middle of January to go be in the warmth!  We stopped to visit Uncle C and Auntie Kinsey and then went on to the beach and San Diego.  We got to go to Sea World and see lots of beautiful animals that I had never seen before.

And I made some new friends with daddy's friends, the Vindiola boys!  We all went to the zoo together...it was super fun!

Our spring has been a lot of layin low and doing things at home.  Mama came home from California and told Daddy that she needed to stay home now until the baby was born.  I think our last trip made her very tired.  She seems better now.  It will be fun to meet my new brother or sister in a couple months!  Until then, I will keep playing with my sister and my friends!

Love to you all,
Maxwell Murphy

Growing up so fast!

Everyone told my mom and dad that I would grow up fast, but I don't think they believed it.  We had such a great summer..... we were in Idaho first, then Minnesota.  But in between our trips was my 1st birthday!  Momma made me a cake and I only gagged a little bit at the first bite.  Everyone thought it was funny except my mom.  I tried to tell her, it was just that I hadn't ever had a sprinkle before, but I don't think she understood me.

A couple of days after my actual birthday, Charly and I had a birthday party.  It was super fun.  I got lots of presents, but I didn't really get to open them..... Charly and her friends insisted on "helping" me.

Go ahead ladies.... I'll just watch.

Mostly I liked the party cause there were people I loved there!

At the end of August we headed to Minnesota.  In Minnesota, my favorite thing was to ride on the boat. I loved being up front.... the lifejacket, ah, not really my fav, but mom and dad made me wear it.

The beach was fun too.  And I didn't even get any of those chigger bites!  Charly got them, but not me! I must be too sweet...

I worked on my swimming too....

It was a great trip, but man was I tired when all was said and done.

Apparently, Daddy was too!

When we got home from Minnesota, I kept workin on my golf......

By the time the fall rolled around, I was due for my first hair cut.  It wasn't so bad..... mostly I was just super curious what the lady behind me was doing.  What do you mean it isn't good to turn around fast when someone is holding scissors behind your head?!

The best thing about life right now is that my sister and I are becoming buddies...... I sure love her!

Ta-ta for now folks!  Until next time...

Second fiddle

Yep, it has started already..... mama helps Charly do her blog and then like a week later I get to do mine....or 3 weeks.....  Oh well, good thing I am a pretty go with the flow kind of guy!

Summer has been a ton of fun!  I still sleep a lot, so I have to squeeze things in where I can.  I am starting to walk, but I find that, even though it feels cool..... I'm just not as fast, and I really like to keep up with my big sister..... so crawling it is.  And, well, truth be told, I just want to do whatever my big sister does, she is the coolest person on the planet in my eyes!

I love to roll cars and trucks, play catch, and bang on stuff!  I'm a pretty big boy so I get squeezed and loved a lot :)  I think my cheeks must just be irresistible!

Grammy came and stayed with us for a couple days while Mama and Dada went to a wedding.  We had tons of fun!

Most of you probably saw all the pictures of Charly riding Maximus (whew, thank goodness his name wasn't Maxwell), but she wasn't the only one doing some riding.  At first I was a little nervous.... I mean, they are SO BIG!

But then I got to ride on Paddy with DiDi and every time she would stop I would wiggle back and forth until she went again!

Here is our whole crew.  DiDi and I, on Paddy, Charly on Maximus with Papa leading.

After the ride, I was much more at ease with the big guys.  Charly even let me pet Max....

We got to do lots of other fun stuff as well.... like go for some boat rides (in a life jacket that was just a little bit too small)..... This pic is of the one I had to squeeze into..... come on people, work with me here, I am trying to grow big and strong!  What do you think this is?!  Thank goodness for our second ride, they found me another one..... it was MUCH more comfortable.

My favorite part of the trip was getting to spend time with Papa though.  I love him.

Nothing like learning the saying "better late than never" at a really early age!  I will work on getting my blogs out a little more often.  Hope you are having a great fall!  It still feels like summer here..... super hot.  Gonna have to go swimming today!

I LOVE SUMMER!

I know you are thinking, yea, who doesn't love summer....but I have never experienced summer before, ever.  If I could, I would be outside eating rocks and rolling in the dirt all day long.  Momma doesn't let me eat any rocks though.... she gets all nervous and picks me up.  I suppose I could choke on them, but I don't know that yet, so I don't care.  I have been very busy trying to keep up with my sister this spring/summer.  But I am getting bigger everyday and catching up.  I only weight 8 pounds less than her now.....watch out!

I got to see Uncle Charlie and Auntie Kinsey a couple of months ago..... I love them very much.  They make me smile and laugh and feel loved.

I had heard my sister talk about how great Florida was, but I didn't know if she was being serious or not.....she wasn't kidding!  It was the coolest EVER!

One night down in Florida, Daddy was showing me this thing called a phone book.  It was bright yellow, so it had that going for it.....but then Momma grabbed the camera and said, "oh man, we have to get a photo of that.... those won't be around in 20 years and the kids will love this photo" I am not sure what she is talking about, I'll let you know in 20 years.

It is a toss up wether I liked the swimming or the ice cream better.......

No matter what, I hope we get to go back next year...... did I mention, I LOVE Florida?

Gotta run...more to come.

Love,
Maxwell Murphy

6 teeth!

Yep, I have 6 teeth..... just like that.  I got those first bottom 2 pretty early, I think I was 5 months, but then a couple weeks ago I got all 4 of my top teeth at once.  I even fussed a little, which Mom and Dad aren't really used to.  We've had a busy month, as I am sure my sister told you.  I have gotten to see lots of family and meet a bunch of new people.

Not only do I have 4 new teeth, I also started crawling about a month ago...... and just today, I pulled myself up to standing.  I am such a big boy.  I mean, my sister is still bigger and she pushes me around a lot.....Mama has talks with her all the time, but I don't know if she actually hears what Mama says.  I don't care though, I love her SO much.  I think everything she does is funny.  Now that I can crawl, I just follow her around.

Did I mention the past 2 months have been super busy?  Between Mama and Daddy working and family visiting, we are always on the go.  I do the love the "seeing family" part though!

Our cousins came out to Colorado to visit and it was like a million play buddies!  I was kind of bored after they left, but then came the next wave.......

Mama was walking around with me in the carrier while she was getting ready to ski and she was super nervous that people thought she was going to take me skiing like this..... kinda funny.

I told her, no way.....if we're going skiing, you better turn me around so I can see!

Well, I guess I am a man without too many words this blog around..... next time, I am sure I will have a story or 2 for you!  Oh yea, and Happy Easter!

Maxwell Murphy
